the audience at the law school can be heard to break out in laughter. but ms. o’donnell refuses to be dissuaded, and pushes forward.

“let me just clarify. you are telling me that the separation of church and state is in the first amendment,” she says.

when mr. coons offers a shorthand of the relevant section, saying, “government shall make no establishment of religion,” ms. o’donnell replies, “that’s in the first amendment?”

that a candidate this clueless about the basic framework of our government—not to mention a candidate this radical—is even in the discussion at this point in october is scary.

there are some intensely smart, savvy conservatives. they are worthy adversaries and deserving candidates. then there is christine o’donnell, and sharon angle, and sarah palin, and it’s alarming. and it should be embarrassing. if these wingnuts were the face of my party i would be horrified.

Halloween costume idea for MK and I??

The kids graduate from obedience school today after 8 LONG weeks of classes. Mike and I both had to attend these classes for an hour every Thursday. Mike missed one week, due to work travels, and I had to take the little ~~evil~~ angels to class by myself. This was the week that Jackson decided to relieve himself (#2) in the middle of the PetSmart dog food isle, and mark (#1) his territory all over a dog bed on the bottom shelf. When asked if I would need to purchase this now pee-soaked dog bed, their instructor told me that it happens all the time and that they look at things on the bottom shelves as “free-game” to all roaming pets. After I cleaned up Jackson’s gifts, I made MK promise to never miss another class again.

Things that Chlo and Jax have taken away from dog school:

-walking on the leash correctly

-sit, stay, down, leave it

Things I’ve taken away from dog school:

-don’t purchase anything from PetSmart located on the bottom shelf
